About Us
The Drucker Society of Los Angeles was founded in December 2007. The organization works closely with The Drucker Institute at Claremont Graduate University.
Our Bylaws
Mission
To create a space where people can exchange ideas based on the thought and work of Peter F. Drucker, renowned worldwide as the father of modern management. The Drucker Society learns from and in turn partners with all sectors of society, to include the corporate, academic (nonprofit) and governmental realms.
Vision
Make a positive difference in society by applying Peter F. Drucker’s work, theories and practices, focusing on the Greater Los Angeles area.
Positions
All board members deliberate and are expected to participate in recruitment. There are seven board members; if there are co-presidents, then there are two associate members of the board, while if there is a sole president, there are three associate members of the board.
President – The president represents the Drucker Society and is one voice among several regarding the decisions of the board. Co-Presidents may be elected.
Vice President – The vice president represents the Drucker Society in the absence of the president, and participates in decisionmaking on the board. He or she has a special focus on recruitment for the Society.
Secretary – The secretary takes notes, sends out minutes, notices and agendas, and participates in the decision making of the board. He or she maintains the roster.
Treasurer – The treasurer ensures fairness and accuracy in the fiduciary responsibility of the Society, as well as participating in decision making of the board.
Associate Members of the Board (2 or 3) – A maximum of two or three associate members help the board in its decision making. Their role is to bring in outside perspectives to the board. (There are three associate members in the case of a sole president, two associate members in the case of co-presidents.)
Quorum
At least 5/7 board members must be present for a quorum.
Removal
A board member or regular member may be removed from office or from membership by a majority vote of the rest of the board.
Terms and Elections
A board member may serve up to two, two-year terms, for a maximum of four years in office, in his or her specific office. (Board members may serve up to four years in one office, then up to four years in another office, but not more than four years in a given office.) The terms may or may not be consecutive.
Elections are held for all board offices in mid-October.
Modifying By-laws
Bylaws may be modified by 2/3 board vote.
Executive Board

Gus E. Bojorquez, Co-president
Gus E. Bojorquez has over 25 years of work experience in the areas of corporate finance to include financial planning, accounting, financial analysis, and controllership. Most of his work experience has been in the aerospace and defense industry. He worked as finance controller for over seven years for a small entrepreneurship company. He is a certified Six Sigma specialist and a Six Sigma trained Greenbelt. Mr. Bojorquez earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University at Los Angeles an MBA from University of Redlands.
In 2005 he completed an Executive MBA at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, part of the Claremont Graduate University (CGU) consortium. He was honored as the banner person representing The Peter F. Drucker School at CGU’s 2005 commencement. He was recognized in The National Dean’s List during school year 2001-2002. Mr. Bojorquez is fluent in Spanish and English. He can converse in French. He has special interest in the study of Peter F. Drucker’s comprehensive work in the areas of management to include effective management practrices. Mr. Bojorquez is considered a Diversity Champion and Change Agent with his current employer.

Elisa Mann, Co-president
Elisa works in the field of public relations and marketing communications for Mann & Associates. She holds an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management.

Arabella Santiago, Vice President
Arabella, or "Abbie", is the founder and president of MediaGuns, Inc., a company that specilizes in social media marketing, strategy, web production, and content development for businesses, women's groups and non-profit organizations. She received her degree in political science and English from Rutgers University and began her career writing obituaries and reporting for a daily newspaper. She got hooked on Drucker after reading Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She also maintains BusinessBoomer, a blog about social entrepreneurship. She lives in Santa Monica, Calif.

Edie Young, Treasurer
Edie is a graduate of the Peter Drucker Graduate School of Management. She has worked as a personal financial planner and treasurer of a large condominium association.

Yo Moreno, Secretary
Yo Moreno is currently an Instructor in Professional Development for Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Her classes range from Change Management and Leadership Seminars to technical software instruction. Yo received her Executive Masters in Business Administration ( EMBA) from the Peter Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management (Claremont Graduate University). She graduated with Honors and was voted Student of the Year for 2007 by her classmates. Yo received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

Ray Ritchey, Associate Board Member
Ray Ritchey graduated in 1998 from the Drucker School and somehow ended up always making things happen and more efficient. What he learned at the Drucker School was to keep on asking himself - "am I doing the right work?" and other seemingly simple, common sense ways of looking at the world. His work experience varies from small companies to larger companies including as a Director of Marketing, mostly in the technology area that builds upon his Engineering undergraduate. He is currently running an E-Commerce web site and consulting.

ABRAHAM MCNIEL, ASSOCIATE BOARD MEMBER
Abraham McNiel currently works at Sears and Roebuck Co. and is pursuing a degree in business administration. He has experience in management with companies such as Staples Inc. and Expo Design Center (A Home Depot Company). Abraham is fluent in English and Spanish and enjoys studying Peter F. Drucker's principles and employs them in the workplace. |
